How did Alonso Alvarez de Pineda Change Texas History

What did he do?

 

In his short lifetime, he had made two great accomplishements.

 

Back in his time, Florida was most commonly believed to be an island, seperate from the rest of America. He proved that to be false during his voyage.

 

Second, he was the first person to ever map the Texas coast, which helped to guide future explorers throughout the area.
